Further to the discussions at the public budget consultation, and the announcement when the 2020-21 financial plan was adopted, rate reviews have been completed on the Montague and Georgetown utilities. As of June 2020, submissions have been made to IRAC. Pending approval, rates will increase 12% in September 2020, for Georgetown Sewer, and Montague Sewer and Water customers will see 8.8% increases in each of October 2020, and October 2021.
Examples of proposed flat-rate residential charges:
In Georgetown, the annual charge for flat-rate residential sewer will be $262 effective September 1, 2020. A triennial bill will be issued on September 1 in the amount of $87.33. In January 2021, a quarterly billing cycle will be adopted, and the quarterly flat-rate residential bill will be $65.50.
In Montague, the quarterly flat-rate residential bill for water and sewer will be $186 effective with the October 1, 2020 bills. Effective October 1, 2021, bills the quarterly flat-rate residential bill will be $203.
