It’s important to be prepared in the event of an emergency, with a potential storm on the way, now is the time to prepare.
Items to include in your emergency kit:
- Extra masks and hand sanitizer
- At least 2 litres of water per person per day for 3-5 days
- At least a 3-5 day supply of non-perishable food and a can opener
- Battery-powered or hand-crank radio and extra batteries
- Flashlight, whistle, first aid kit, and a dust mask to help filter contaminated air
- Plastic sheeting and duct tape for sheltering in place
- Moist towelettes, tissues, toilet paper, garbage bags, and plastic ties for personal sanitation needs
- Cash (small bills, ideally up to $200)
- Wrench or pliers to turn off utilities
- Printed list of contact names and phone numbers

There are warming stations available to residents of Three Rivers. They will be open only after a 72-hour power outage and if the Province deems it safe to travel.
