Three Rivers Municipality Seeking Feedback on Mobile Vendors Policy
The Town of Three Rivers reminds the public it is still seeking feedback on the creation of a mobile vendors policy. The proposed policy would consider the proximity of mobile vendors to residential areas, permit fees, and fee structure, as well as other considerations such as waste and wastewater disposal requirements. Council announced its intention to explore the creation of a policy following its regular monthly meeting in March.
“Our mobile vendors are an important part of Three Rivers. They provide a valuable service to residents, entice people to visit, and add to the atmosphere we love and appreciate in Three Rivers,” said Mayor Ed MacAulay. “We know that new policies or bylaws have an impact on the people in our community and we want to make sure that everyone has an opportunity to weigh in on what we ultimately move forward on.”
Anyone who operates a business in Three Rivers or who has, or plans to have, a mobile business as well as anyone interested in the creation of a mobile vendors policy is encouraged to get in touch with Town officials via townhall@threeriverspei.com prior to April 30.
Council plans to open discussion on the policy at its next meeting on March 22.
“Georgetown has a Licensing and Street Vendor Bylaw that serves as a good example of the types of things we are considering,” Mayor MacAulay said. “It, along with all of the existing policies and bylaws, can be found on our website. I encourage everyone to take a look and let us know your thoughts on the matter.”
