A bylaw for mobile vendors in the Town of Three Rivers has passed second and final reading and will be enacted on January 1, 2022. Vendors who plan to operate in January must apply early in December to have the necessary paperwork in place to comply.

The Licensing and Street Vendors Bylaw regulates location, establishes the fee structure and procedure for obtaining a license to operate, and outlines waste and wastewater disposal requirements.

The bylaw was created using the street vendor bylaw in Georgetown as a reference. Public input was sought over a period of two months.

The proposed bylaw includes lunch trucks, push carts, food trucks/trailers, and other mobile sales establishments.

Under the bylaw, vendors have an opportunity to apply for their permit and operator’s license prior to their next operating season. Staff are available to assist vendors with the application process and additional information is available here https://threeriverspei.com/permits-and-applications/
