Preparing for Potential Storm

It’s important to be prepared in the event of an emergency, with a potential storm on the way, now is the time to prepare.

Items to include in your emergency kit:

• Extra masks and hand sanitizer
• At least 2 litres of water per person per day for 3-5 days
• At least a 3-5 day supply of non-perishable food and a can opener
• Battery-powered or hand-crank radio and extra batteries
• Flashlight, whistle, first aid kit, and a dust mask to help filter contaminated air
• Plastic sheeting and duct tape for sheltering in place
• Moist towelettes, tissues, toilet paper, garbage bags, and plastic ties for personal sanitation needs
• Cash (small bills, ideally up to $200)
• Wrench or pliers to turn off utilities
• Printed list of contact names and phone numbers
