Establishment of Planning Board is the first step toward an Official Plan and Zoning Bylaw for Three Rivers. Five community members and two members of Council will comprise the Planning Board, which is expected to be appointed in March.

The first task of the Planning Board will be the evaluation of the proposals from consulting firms interested in assisting with the research and formulation of the first official plan. The plan will consider the four plans in former communities which had them, but will rely heavily on input from the public, Council, and staff. The new plan will set out the vision for land use across Three Rivers, and its adoption will mean that the municipality will assume control for land use. It is vitally important that all members of the community voice preferences, concerns, and future vision for agricultural, forested, waterfront, industrial, commercial, and residential properties/lands.
