Upgrades to the Montague Wastewater Treatment Plant began in October of 2020.  The purpose of the upgrades is to increase storage for bio-solids and increase capacity for treatment through aeration and automated process control.  The following work has been completed or is currently underway:

  • Concrete bio-solids tank construction is complete.
  • Underground pipework is under construction.
  • Upgrades to control building (doors/electrical/ventilation) under construction.

After completion of these phases, next phases will include:

  • Upgrades to the aeration piping, with new blowers.
  • Installation of a SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) system for the WWTP to optimize operations.
  • New fencing, landscaping including the addition of trees for aesthetics.

Construction is expected to be complete in early spring of 2021
