Public Works- Seasonal Maintenance
Duration: Seasonal position
Anticipated Start Date: As early as May 5th
Hourly Wage: $17.00 for 40 hours per week
Responsibilities:
- Care for established lawns by mowing, raking, weeding, fertilizing and edging around flower beds, walks and walls
- Plant and maintain flower beds, trees and shrubs
- Provide proper upkeep of town-owned trails and green spaces
- Use hand tools such as shovels, rakes, pruning shears and hedge trimmers
- Operate powered equipment such as lawn mowers and whipper snippers
- Maintain and repair tools and equipment used for landscaping
- May be required to work in all areas of public works, gardens, parks, ball fields
- Daily up-keep, cleaning, garbage removal of town owned recreational facilities and parks
- Assist with set-up and tear down of events and functions
- Assist with general duties during events and functions
- Perform other duties related to park maintenance as assigned.
Requirements:
- Ability to work weekdays and weekends for a total of 40 hours per week
- Capacity to operate a variety of landscape and park maintenance equipment
- Must have a Class 5 Driver’s license
- WHIMIS training required
- CSA approved steel-toed work boots will be required
- Mature individual aged 17-29, must be returning to school in the fall
- Capable of lifting equipment, tables, and a variety of heavy objects up to 50lbs
- Physically fit, ability to stand for long periods of time, bending, crouching, kneeling
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- First Aid and CPR Training is considered an asset.
- Working knowledge of township properties and programs is an asset

Public Works- Sports Fields/Seasonal Maintenance

Hourly Wage: $17.00 for 40 hours per week
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for general maintenance of sport fields in the Town of Three Rivers
- Prepare sport fields for baseball and softball games, including cutting grass, lining fields.
- Ensure bathroom facilities at fields are cleaned, disinfected, and maintained daily.
- Setting up seasonal operations (clearing trails, cleaning equipment, signage)
