Snow Clearing

Streets

Snow removal on the streets and roads (excluding private roads) of the Town of Three Rivers is the responsibility of the Province. To report a snow clearing problem call (902) 652-8960.

Sidewalks

The Town recognizes the importance of pedestrian safety, but because of unique conditions/variables of each winter event and response required, sidewalk clearing can sometimes be delayed.  While every effort is made to clear snow as quickly and thoroughly as possible, achieving “summer-like” sidewalk conditions in the winter is unrealistic and public must be aware of hazards such as slush and ice.

Assistance in providing passable sidewalks for pedestrians and plowing operations includes the public considering where waste bins are placed and where snow cleared from driveways, parking lots and properties is piled.  Residents are expected to clear their properties to the road.

Please call 838-2528 or email townhall@threeriverspei.com for inquiries regarding snow clearing of sidewalks in Montague and Georgetown.
