The Town of Three Rivers (“TOTR”) is a town within Kings County in beautiful Prince Edward Island that was incorporated on September 28, 2018, through an amalgamation of seven municipalities and adjacent unincorporated areas. The Town of Three Rivers is currently seeking an Arena Manager for the Cavendish Farms Wellness Centre.
Accountable to the CAO, the Arena Manager is a management position requiring knowledge and hands-on skill to support the efficient operation of the Cavendish Farms Wellness Center. This role oversees facility management, including business planning, operations, and staff coordination, to ensure smooth functioning of the facility. Key responsibilities include maintaining relationships with ice rental groups, coordinating with the Town on purchases and budgets, and managing event bookings to increase venue utilization and revenue. Financial responsibilities include projecting attendance and event costs, applying for funding, and adhering to procurement policies. The role also involves policy development, staff supervision, ensuring compliance with regulations, and driving marketing efforts to attract events and foster industry relationships, all in line with long-term planning goals.
As an ideal candidate, you will have post-secondary education in recreation, sports and leisure management, business administration or related field combined with 3-5 years of progressively responsible experience in business, recreation, or fitness. A combination of relevant education and experience will be considered. You will have experience in budget and operational management as well as rink operations and equipment and a knowledge of ice-related sports activities. The role requires strong leadership to supervise staff and excellent communication to work with sports leagues, vendors, and the public. Proficiency in developing relationships, strong problem-solving and excellent communication skills are essential in this role. You will have or be willing to obtain certifications such as WHMIS, First Aid and CPR, Responsible Beverage Server, and Level 1 & Level 2 Arena Operator.
