Public Meeting Process
Public access to Council and Committee meetings is permitted within the following parameters:
All posted signage must be obeyed.
Meeting notices will be posted to the website a minimum of 24 hours in advance of the meetings.
If you wish to speak at a meeting, you may reserve your spot on the agenda by noon of the Wednesday preceding the meeting via the contact information below or attend the meeting in person. Up to 5 minutes are available for a citizen/organization to deliver remarks during the Delegations, Special Speakers and Public Input portion of the agenda at Council meetings, following which Council may have questions of the presenter.
During public input, the Mayor and Council are there to listen to your views. Council will not debate or enter into dialogue with members of the public at the meeting. If you are interested in a dialogue, you may contact members of Council directly here (https://threeriverspei.com/council/).
CONDUCT DURING COUNCIL MEETINGS
All persons in the public gallery at a Council meeting will:
a) refrain from addressing Council or a member of Council unless permitted to do so by the Mayor or Chairperson;
b) maintain quiet and order;
c) refrain from disturbing the proceedings by words, gestures or actions including applauding, displaying flags, placards or similar material;
d) refrain from talking on electronic mobile devices and,
e) ensure that all electronic devices are silent and operated in such a manner that does not interfere with the meeting or with another person’s ability to hear or view the proceedings.
If you are unable to attend a meeting but wish to send your remarks to Council, you are welcome to email or call the Municipal Offices with input for Council up until noon the Wednesday preceding the day of the meeting.
